Liverpool ONE: a place that since opening in 2008 has become synonymous with Liverpool’s people and culture. This vibrant, evolving, happening destination is at the heart of Liverpool’s thriving city centre, and that’s why it’s the perfect latest addition to our UK-wide retail portfolio.

So, as we mark one year of Liverpool ONE as part of Landsec, and following another year of record-breaking visits and brand openings, here’s why one of the UK’s best retail destinations is so sought after – and is set for continued growth in 2026 and beyond.

A platform for brands
to succeed

Liverpool ONE's position as one of the UK's leading retail destinations for the best brands is going from strength to strength - driven by unique guest experiences, high footfall, compelling brand activations, and leading occupancy rates.

Strength, diversity,
and evolution

Since opening its doors in 2008, Liverpool ONE has continually transformed to remain the go-to destination for both local and global brands to make their mark. Whether JD Sports opening its largest store in the world in 2017, or the latest marquee arrivals of Sephora, Uniqlo, and ARNE in 2025, the destination’s appeal has stood the test of time. As Landsec continues to invest in what is already one of the country’s most significant locations for retail, hospitality and entertainment, Liverpool ONE remains the place to be for brands and visitors alike.

The Liverpool ONE Culture

Liverpool has a world famous, recognisable culture that attracts tens of millions of visitors each year from across the world. And it’s this unique culture that’s ingrained within Liverpool ONE, and why it’s a year-round destination for unmissable events for all ages. It’s the connection with the City, the North West; from international tourists and cruise passengers to football fans and the city’s night-time crowd. Liverpool ONE is the life and soul of one of the UK’s most electric cities, and is an ambassador for Liverpool as a leading cultural and visitor destination.

A UNIQUE MIX OF LOCALS, TOURISTS, CRUISE PASSENGERS, FOOTBALL FANS AND THE CITY’S NIGHT-TIME CROWD

Liverpool ONE is an outward-looking place that remains vibrant and relevant as a culturally focused destination. Its open layout, green space in Chavasse Park, connection to the waterfront, and central location make it an ideal partner to the City and the North. By working closely with other organisations in the city, as well as those bringing events to Liverpool, there will always be something different to experience at Liverpool ONE. This capacity to keep breathing new life into the heart of the city also helps reinforce a strong connection with people. Local or global, if it matters to Liverpool, it matters to Liverpool ONE.

PAST. PRESENT. AND WHERE WE’RE GOING next.

We invested to bring Liverpool ONE into our portfolio of leading places because we knew it’d come out of the traps flying, and has already been increasingly building on its catalogue of achievements since opening in 2008. It’s the ultimate backdrop for us to curate the very best retail, hospitality, and leisure experiences that you won’t find online. And with more investment into the beating heart of Liverpool planned for 2026 and beyond, there's plenty more to come. Plenty.

Liverpool:
the home of world-leading events

Looking ahead, Liverpool is set for an exceptional period of global attention and visitor growth. In 2027 the Tour de France will pass through the city, followed by five UEFA Euro 2028 fixtures the following year — two landmark moments for a region with such a strong sporting identity. Chavasse Park will sit at the heart of activity during both events, and through our ongoing green space enhancements we’re creating a focal point for visitors, and an opportunity to showcase Liverpool ONE on the international stage.

Alongside this, major cultural investments are reshaping the city’s offer. Tate Liverpool will reopen next year following a £30m transformation, and the International Slavery Museum is due to reopen in 2028. These developments will play a significant role in attracting new audiences into Liverpool and the wider North West, while for us they underpin a growing opportunity: increased tourism, stronger footfall, and greater momentum for the continued evolution of Liverpool ONE. We’re excited deliver the next phase of growth across the city and the region.
